Job Overview We're seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Machine Learning Manager to lead the ML strategy and execution for Uber Grocery's Catalog team . This team powers all consumer-facing experiences in the Uber Eats app, from the initial app opening to checkout. As the ML leader, you'll be responsible for building and scaling diverse AI/ML systems to interpret complex grocery data, including semantic understanding, inventory forecasting, and computer vision applications. You'll guide a talented team of ML engineers and collaborate cross-functionally to shape the future of grocery shopping on Uber Eats. About The Team The Catalog team is central to Uber Grocery, providing the foundational intelligence for the grocery experience. Our scope includes catalog understanding, product relationships, inventory forecasting, and real-time store mapping using computer vision. Responsibilities Lead the development of ML models for catalog understanding, product relationships, inventory forecasting, and computer vision applications. Manage and grow a team of ML engineers. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ML solutions into the product. Minimum Qualifications PhD or equivalent in a related field and 4+ years of software engineering experience, or 10+ years of experience including 4+ years in a technical role. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, Java, or Go. Experience with large-scale data structures, algorithms, and machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch. At least 4 years of people management experience.
