Location BBC Bronson Battle Creek Title Victim Advocate The PRN Victim Advocate provides on-call support to individuals impacted by sexual assault and sexual abuse. This position offers crisis intervention, emotional support, safety planning, advocacy, information, and referrals to community resources. The PRN Advocate may respond to BBC hospital/SANE exam or law enforcement agencies or other designated locations to support survivors and their non-offending loved ones. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate documentation, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring services are delivered in a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and survivor-centered manner. Qualification Requirements: Be at least 18 years old Be able to relate to survivors in a patient, empathic, non-judgmental manner Be able to relate to agency personnel and community members in a mature and professional manner Complete thirty-hours of sexual assault training prior to taking on-call shifts Be able to commit to a minimum of six months of service following training completion Be resourceful, self-motivated, dependable and informed on the issue of sexual assault Have access to transportation Responsibilities: Provide empathic, non-judgmental support and advocacy to survivors and their non-perpetrating significant others on site at hospital emergency rooms, nurse examiner sites, police departments Provide responsive coverage for assigned on-call shifts via crisis line and pager system Sign up for a minimum of three shifts per week, after hours or weekend, and assure appropriate replacement coverage if unable to cover assigned on-call shift Respond to site within thirty minutes of page from crisis line May assist in training volunteer victim advocates. Present a mature, professional demeanor when making contact with other programs, organizations and systems Observe confidentiality policy regarding all client and agency information Complete required paperwork and return to SANE before leaving exam site Attend monthly volunteer victim advocate meetings Keep informed of program policies, procedures, community resources, and other information related to the provision of quality services Training and Supervision: Successfully complete Victim Advocacy Program screening and training Complete SAS Departmental on-boarding and training requirements Attend monthly volunteer victim advocate meetings Keep in contact with the Volunteer Coordinator and attend monthly meetings Contact the Volunteer Coordinator concerning client contacts and submit appropriate paperwork in a timely manner Have an annual performance evaluation Take additional training if deemed necessary by the volunteer coordinator Shift Variable Time Type Part time Scheduled Weekly Hours 0 Cost Center 8564 Sass (BBC) Agency Use Policy and Agency Submittal Disclaimer Bronson Healthcare Group and its affiliates ("Bronson") strictly prohibit the acceptance of unsolicited resumes from individual recruiters or third-party recruiting agencies ("Recruiters") in response to job postings or word of mouth.
