As the Team Manager for night shift in our Machining department, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of night shift operations. We seek a motivated and proactive leader capable of managing 2nd and 3rd shift Machining operations with minimal direction. Your expertise will be vital in driving efficient production processes and upholding our high-quality standards. You will lead a dedicated team of four salaried supervisors and approximately 100 hourly employees. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will spearhead initiatives to optimize productivity, enhance operational performance, and foster a culture of collaboration and safety for the department. Key Responsibilities: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of supervisors and hourly employees, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement. Ensure production targets are met while maintaining quality standards and operational efficiency. Monitor production metrics, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to optimize workflow. Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to troubleshoot production issues and ensure minimal downtime. Lead shift meetings to communicate production goals, safety protocols, and updates to the team. Enforce safety protocols and promote a culture of safety awareness among all team members. Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency. Ensures all procedures, reporting, and policies are followed and has authority to directly address or correct any non-conformance. Completes or ensures proper paperwork, record-keeping, data entry. Education and Experience: A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Shift Manager in a large, high-volume manufacturing environment; or with at least eight (8) years of experience as a Production Supervisor in a large, high-volume manufacturing setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven track record of successfully leading teams and driving operational excellence. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate a diverse team. Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing production challenges. Experience with lean manufacturing or similar continuous process improvement is preferred. Strong orientation for continuous improvement. Demonstrated ability to collaborate well cross-functionally and work well at all levels of the organization. Resourceful, proactive, high energy, results-driven. Ability to work both independently and within a team, generating results with general/minimal guidance from management. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and familiarity with manufacturing software and reporting tools.
