Delta Professional Services (DPS) is the Flight Training & Standards provider of choice to Delta Air Lines, its affiliates and key industry partners. The Manager of Business Systems will manage the Business Systems and data function at DPS, overseeing a team of analyst and interns. This role is responsible for developing and managing operational metrics, supporting enterprise reporting, and leading critical tools such as Smartsheet, the DPS data lake, and Power BI. The ideal candidate is both technically strong and operationally savvy, capable of connecting data insights to business outcomes and guiding the evolution of DPS’s digital infrastructure.
This position will report to the General Manager of Business Systems & Services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TASKS
Implements and supports SmartSheets to ensure operational goals are met.
Oversee the development, delivery, and maintenance of operational metrics and business reporting
Serve as the subject matter expert and lead implementer for Smartsheet—ensuring scalable, efficient deployment across teams
Own and maintain the DPS data lake, ensuring data integrity, accessibility, and alignment with business needs
Lead the implementation and adoption of Power BI across the organization, including governance, training, and dashboard creation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define KPIs, reporting needs, and process automation opportunities
Ensure all data practices meet security, privacy, and compliance standards consistent with Delta’s enterprise expectations
Support the broader Business Systems & Services technology roadmap by identifying opportunities for data-driven transformation
Introduce new technology to improve organizational efficiencies.
Drives strategic projects focusing on long-term business vision/needs.
Develops process maps and training materials on key business systems.
Supports and drives cross functional collaboration leveraging influence skills.
Participate in change management process as needed for new and existing technologies.
Works with leadership to identify and produce key staffing and cost reporting.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate or work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
High level of business acumen and experience with process improvement methods.
Strong capabilities in the analysis and interpretation of data with a demonstrated ability to turn insights into action and construct different business model approaches to maximize results.
Maintains a solid understanding of Delta professional Services goals, objectives, and metrics and effectively communicates them to the organization.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
Solid organizational and leadership skills.
Familiarity with Flight Operations infrastructure
Must be able to effectively work with internal and external business partners to drive DPS work
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
Solid computer skills including proficiency with Office 365 and other Delta/DPS software.
5+ years of experience in data analytics, systems implementation, or business intelligence
Prior experience leading teams in a data-focused or business systems environment Her
Expertise in Smartsheet and Power BI, including design, deployment, and training
Strong working knowledge of data modeling, visualization, and analytics best practices
Ability to work effectively with a diversified team as well as independently, in pressure situations, with composure and tact.
Analytical, problem-solving, conceptual, and project management skills are required.
Effective time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities is required.
Being proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to motivate others, is required.
